Our Mission

The Mechanical Engineering Student Society (MESS) exists to build a community for students studying mechanical or mechatronics engineering.

MESS aims to complement the mechanical or mechatronics engineering degree by offering opportunities that extend beyond coursework. Through industry talks, skills workshops, and academic support, we help students explore different pathways within mechanical and mechatronics engineering and develop practical, professional, and teamwork skills that are essential for their future careers.

We also act as a bridge between students, industry, and the wider engineering community. By collaborating with the University of Melbourne, other engineering societies, and industry partners, MESS provides members with valuable exposure to real-world engineering applications, networking opportunities, and career insights.
